BREAKING NEWS - BRIDGE POOL OPENED ON 30TH APRIL 2010
This is our second big carp water which is approximately 13 acres ranging from 8 - 14 feet deep. It has 10 pegs all on the same bank about 30yards apart with a double peg in the middle if you want to be together!
This will be a bivvy water to cater for the anglers that don't like fishing from huts. You will have to bring your own bivvy, large carp landing net, weigh sling and large unhooking mat which must be completely dry. The rest of the rules and prices will be the same as our existing carp water.
As with our original big carp water this has not been fished before, so we are not sure what size the fish will run to. Stocking took place in 2005/2006 and we are expecting the carp to be 20lb plus, but the pike are an unknown size.
The bridge pool opened this weekend, and there has been 15 fish caught up to 18lb, unfortunately none of the twenties have shown yet, but there has been some nice looking scaley mirrors caught. Andrew Lynskey had a 16lb on KG1, Pat Brotheridge had a 14lb on Tutti Frutti, and Dave Williams had five doubles using SBS corn. The anglers that had most success were fishing to the far bank.
The Specimen Carp lake opened in June 2007. Follow the link for more information. At the moment you can only fish with two rods as the pike season has ended.
We have moved our office premises to the main building at Baden Hall, where there is now a bigger shop with lots more bait and tackle such as floats, swim feeders, fishing line, pva bags and lots more including the usual pellets, sweetcorn, paste, pop ups and boilies that we sell.
We also now sell a range of food, including delicious sandwiches, rolls and pies, as well as chocolate and soft drinks. These can also be purchased at the reception.
Breakfasts are now available between 7:30am and 10:30am weekend mornings in the clubhouse.
We have relaxed the keep net rule now, but we ask that you empty them after five hours, and that they are completely dry before being put in the water.
We have just installed a credit/debit card machine in the office, so you can now pay by card if you so wish.
